NDD Lunar Parade 1NDD Lunar Parade 2

Please mark your calendars for 11am on Sunday, February 6, 2011. The Lunar New Year is coming up and Nodutdol plans on marching again this year in Chinatown’s parade with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) contingent.

“Lunar New Year for All” is an ad-hoc group that organized the first-ever contingent last year. The response was HUGE with many Asian Pacific Islander LGBTQ folks and allies marching in support of the larger Asian Pacific Islander LGBT community. The Chinatown parade organizers invited the group back to participate in the 2011 parade and we’ll once again be a part of the effort as well!

Interested in marching with Nodutdol? Contact us at andy@nodutdol.org and we’ll make sure you get the parade details to meet up with us.

1. Please invite your friends and colleagues to march in the contingent with us. It’s a fairly easy parade route and lasts for about 1.5 hours, but it goes by fast as you get a chance to catch up with old Nodutdol supporters. Afterwards, we will likely go out for 떡국 (dduk gook) or dim sum.

2. We will be making signs for the upcoming march. Please let us know if you would like to get creative and help out!

3. Anybody good at 풍물 (poongmul)? The coalition is planning to have another group of Korean drummers and they’re looking for volunteers. To sign up, please directly email the contingent at: lunarnewyearforall@gmail.com.
